Abhinav Sreeram sets new heptathlon record at National Youth Athletics Championships with 4731 points in Kerala.
Kerala’s Abhinav Sreeram broke the boys’ heptathlon record in the 20th National youth athletics championships at the Patliputra Sports Complex here on Tuesday.
Abhinav, with a total of 4731 points, bettered the one-year-old record of Tamil Nadu’s P. Royshan (4664 points).
Meanwhile Haryana’s Nishchay, who won the discus throw gold on Monday, made it a fine double by taking the shot put title today.
The results (under-18, winners only): Boys: 110m hurdles: B. Nived (TN) 14.35s. Shot put: Nishchay (Har) 18.93m. Heptathlon: Abhinav Sreeram (Kerala) 4731 pts.
Girls: 100m hurdles: Shourya Ambure (Mah) 14.55s. Long jump: Jyothi Jangid (Raj) 5.69m. Discus throw: Lakshita Mahlawat (Raj) 40.77m.

The Puducherry government has decided to launch a scheme on April 14, 2025, to distribute free 20-litre water cans to households in places in the Union Territory (UT) where the quality of drinking water has deteriorated, Minister for Public Works K.
