Exciting sports meet at SPAV with students showcasing determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship in various competitions.
The air was thick with excitement and anticipation on the sprawling campus of the School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada (SPAV), where players, equipped with determination and focus, competed with a team spirit as the ‘Sports Meet- 2025’ kicked off on Friday.
The three-day sports meet will witness students from SPAV competing with their counterparts from SPA, Delhi and SPA, Bhopal in cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, kabaddi, table tennis, chess and carrom board among others.
Addressing the participants, SPA Vijayawada Director Ramesh Srikonda spoke about the importance of perseverance, teamwork and camaraderie in sports and beyond. He also elaborated on the benefits of sports in nurturing health, self-confidence, determination, goal-setting skills and wellbeing.
Student Council president Sidharth Suresh highlighted the importance of fair play as an essential part of sports that promote the core values fundamental to sporting competitions.
The events reflected different traditions, techniques and values displayed by students from various institutions. A sense of joy and pride pervaded when Mr. Srikonda unveiled the overall championship trophy.
Noted architect Adusimilli Lakshmana Rao will attend the valedictory of the sports meet on March 23.
