On the occasion of Republic Day 2025, the Government of India has announced medals for 23 police officers of the Tamil Nadu police.
On the occasion of Republic Day 2025, the Government of India has announced medals for 23 police officers of the Tamil Nadu police.
The police officers are chosen for the medals at an all-India level by taking into account their overall performance, achievement, and reputation. The medals are awarded twice a year, on Republic Day and Independence Day.
Two Inspector General of Police (IGP)-level officers — A.T. Durai Kumar, IGP, Special Investigation Cell, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, and A. Radhika, IGP/Additional Commissioner Police, Central Crime Branch, Greater Chennai City Police — have been selected for the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
The following is the list of 21 officers/personnel who have been awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service:
Under the Home Guard and Civil Defence category, Manjit Singh Nayar, Assistant Commandant General of Home Guards, Tamil Nadu, will receive the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.
