As many as 19 workers of a private company were injured after the bus they were travelling in rammed a stationary lorry at Kanjikovil Junction on the Salem-Coimbatore National Highway on Thursday (February 13, 2025).

The cement-laden lorry from Sankari was en route to Kochi. The bus, carrying 25 workers, was heading to a biscuit manufacturing company in SIPCOT, Perundurai, when it crashed into the rear of the lorry at around 6 a.m.
In all, 19 workers, including four women, sustained injuries and were admitted to the Government Erode Medical College and Hospital in Perundurai. Perundurai police are investigating the incident.
