
18 BJP MLAs suspended for six months in Karnataka for ruckus in House over allegation of honey-trapping

Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader suspended 18 MLAs from the opposition BJP for six months for causing a ruckus in the House over the allegation of honey-trapping.
On March 21, the members not only indulged in a vociferous protest demanding a judicial or CBI probe into the allegations by Cooperation Minister K.N. Rajanna that 48 personalities, including legislators, Central leaders and judges, had become victims of honey-trapping, but also threw torn pieces of paper on the Speaker and the podium where his chair is located.
The ugly episode unfolded when Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was replying to the debate on the State budget.
The suspended members include former Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan, former ministers Bhyrathi Basavaraju and Munirathna.
The other members who were suspended are: Doddanagouda Patil, S.R. Vishwanath, Channabasappa, M.R.Patil, Suresh Gowda, Sharanu Salagar, Shylendra Beldale, C.K. Ramamurthy, Yashpal Suvarna, B.P. Harish, Y. Bharat Shetty, Chandru Lamani, Dheeraj Muniraju, Umanath Kotian and Basavaraju Mathimod.
