14 persons injured after tourist van overturns in Yelagiri

Tourists injured in van accident at Yelagiri Hills, driver loses control at hairpin bend, 14 injured.
Fourteen persons, mostly tourists, were injured after the van they were travelling overturned at a hairpin bend on Yelagiri Main Road in Yelagiri Hills in Tirupattur on Thursday.
The police said that K. Satish, a weaver in Kancheepuram, had arranged a van to visit tourist spots in Tirupattur, especially Yelagiri Hills, to spend the New Year with his family relatives and friends.
Along with 22 others, Mr. Satish was returning from Yelagiri Hills on the narrow stretch when van driver V. Parthasarathy, 28, a native of Kancheepuram, lost control of the vehicle at the 13th hairpin bend.
The van overturned, injuring 14 persons, including the van driver.
Based on the an alert, the Tirupattur Taluk police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to the Government Taluk Hospital in Tirupattur town.
The condition of the injured persons is stable.
