Vijay Sankar honored with Knight's Cross of the Order of Dannebrog by King of Denmark for consular services.
Vijay Sankar, Honorary Consul General of Denmark for Southern India at Chennai and Chairman, The Sanmar Group, was honoured with the prestigious ‘Knight’s Cross of the Order of Dannebrog’ by the King of Denmark in recognition of his consular services.
A press release said Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Ambassador of Denmark in India, presented the award and citation to Mr. Vijay Sankar at a function held in Chennai on Tuesday (March 18, 2025).
The Danish Ambassador, who read the citation, highlighted the contribution of Mr. Vijay Sankar to Indo-Danish relations during his tenure. Recalling the five-decade association of three generations of the family with the Danish Consular Services, the Ambassador said Mr. Vijay Sankar’s father N. Sankar and grandfather K.S. Narayanan also held the consular post with distinction.
