Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) founder and Chidambaram MP Thol. Thirumavalavan on Thursday (January 2, 2025) said there is a suspicion that more than one person is involved in the Anna University sexual assault case.
“The State government and the police should investigate the case in a transparent manner and arrest those involved and ensure appropriate punishment,” he told reporters in Chennai.
The Anna University sexual assault case has caused immense shock and pain, he said, and urged the State government to focus on ensuring the safety of women students staying in hostels and pursuing studies in educational institutions across Tamil Nadu.
Responding to a question pertaining to protests over the issue, he said permission should be granted to the Opposition parties to stage demonstrations.
