Udupi DC asks Karnataka Tourism Department to prepare master plan for developing two islands at Malpe-Padukare

Udupi Deputy Commissioner K. Vidyakumari wants the Tourism Department of Karnataka to prepare a master plan for developing infrastructure and tourism-related attractions at Daria Bahadur and Malti islands of Malpe-Padukare.
Speaking at the Udupi district Tourism Development Committee meeting on February 19, she said that Daria Bahadur and Malti islands attract tourists. Hence, necessary facilities for tourists should be created.
She asked the Tourism Department to make seating and parking arrangements for tourists visiting Someshwara beach.
The Deputy Commissioner said that though bids had been invited for the maintenance of Trasi beach and for introducing water sports there, no one had applied. Some potential had suggested sanctioning permission for introducing water sports in the river close to the beach and shifting the venue of parking. Tourism Department should examine their demands and make necessary arrangements, she said.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the authorities to install street lights on NH 66 at Trasi.
