Trump Chooses J.D. Vance As His Running Mate, And People Bring Receipts

The Ohio senator has made a whole lot of negative statements about Trump, something people on social media were happy to point out.
Moments after Donald Trump announced that Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) would be his running mate in this year’s presidential election, people on social media sprung into action.
Although the former president claimed on his Truth Social platform that Vance was “the person best suited to assume the position,” the senator also has a considerable history of making negative statements about Trump, something that folks on X, formerly Twitter, were happy to point out. (Vance has since said he “was wrong” about Trump.)
Plenty of people also listed other reasons they were concerned about Vance, including his record on abortion, the Jan. 6 insurrection and authoritarian principles in general.
