House Democrat Calls Out 'Important' GOP Falsehood On Trump Immigration Chart

Rep. Robert Garcia emphasized being "accurate" as he took a look at a chart once displayed by the former president.
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) went after Republicans on Wednesday for their use of an inaccurate chart on “illegal immigration in the U.S.” that was once on display during the July assassination attempt of Donald Trump.
Rep. Dan Bishop (R-N.C.), at a hearing on the Biden administration’s border policies, initially used the chart and referred to it as Trump’s “favorite.” Trump has credited it for saving his life when he turned his head to point to it at the Pennsylvania rally where a gunman shot him in the ear.
After Reps. Carlos A. Giménez (R-Fla.) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) cited the chart, Garcia asked for the graphic to be handed to him before using it to “clarify” one detail.
“Right now, it says that Trump left office at this point in the chart. That’s actually not when Donald Trump left office,” he said. The point indicated by an arrow on the chart is in 2020.
