Desi Lydic swore off covering Trump's "exhausting and unsustainable" actions only to encounter one of his "crazy new" ideas.
“Daily Show” host Desi Lydic on Wednesday did a quick 180 on her vow to not let Donald Trump distract her with “some crazy new idea” after the president proposed that the U.S. take over the Gaza Strip.
“It is exhausting and unsustainable,” said Lydic of Trump’s tendency to bombard Americans with “ridiculous” policies only to outdo them with “something else more absurd.”
She then flashed a script full of “important issues” she’d rather tackle on the show.
But, after airing a clip of Trump’s plan to permanently resettle roughly two million Palestinians out of Gaza, she dropped her script in a shredder.
Trump, in a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, proposed redeveloping the territory into “the Riviera of the Middle East” and described it as an opportunity to “do something phenomenal.”
