Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday (February 19, 2025) distributed house allotment orders to 712 beneficiaries on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board in areas of Chandrayogi Samadhi, Radhakrishnapuram and Sathyavani Muthu Nagar in Thiru.Vi.Ka. Nagar.
A release said the Chief Minister inaugurated the project to build as well as reconstruct tenements in September 2024. According to the scheme, the beneficiaries in the Chandrayogi Samadhi area have to pay their share of ₹83,000 in 20 years. As for Radhakrishnapuram and Sathyavani Muthu Nagar areas, the beneficiaries should pay ₹625 per month for 20 years.
After the DMK came to power in 2021, the Chief Minister ordered construction of 44,609 tenements at 131 places in 23 districts. The project cost is ₹5,050.28 crore. The government also increased to ₹24,000 the amount paid to occupants when they vacate the tenements.
