Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar welcomed the ceasefire deal in the Lebanese Republic, and expressed its hope that it would lead to a similar agreement to stop the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip and the Israeli attacks on the occupied West Bank.
In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's aspiration for all parties to abide by the agreement, immediately stop military operations, and fully implement Security Council Resolution 1701, and that this agreement would pave the way for a more comprehensive consensus that would achieve lasting peace and complete stability in the region.
The ministry reiterated the State of Qatar's firm position towards the Lebanese Republic, its unity and territorial integrity, and its continued support for its brotherly people.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed the State of Qatar's appreciation for the efforts of the United States of America and the French Republic that contributed to reaching this agreement.
