12 teams set to vie for top honours at Al Shaqab Show Jumping League

Doha, Qatar: Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation, has announced the participation of 12 teams in the second edition of the Al Shaqab Show Jumping League. The first round will take place at the Longines Indoor Arena on December 13 and 14, with the competition continuing through various rounds until the end of May 2025. The league aims to showcase young talent and promote excellence in equestrian sports.

The draw ceremony to determine the participating teams and assign riders took place at Al Shaqab’s conference hall, with a large audience in attendance. Each of the 12 teams is named after legendary horses from Al Shaqab’s history.

Every team consists of five riders from various age groups, competing in show jumping for riders aged 25 and under.

The competition offers opportunities for emerging talents in categories like Future Champions, Juniors, Amateurs and Youth, as well as established Al Shaqab Champions, allowing them to advance in their equestrian careers.

The team names are as follows: Marwan, Al Adeed, Gazal, Wadi, Farhoud, Kahil, Hariry, Afreen, Siwar, Faraa, Al Wathna, and Shahalel Al Shaqab.
