Puducherry Chief Minister calls on Deputy Speaker

.Chief Minister N. Rangasamy visited Deputy Speaker R. Rajavelu, who recently underwent a coronary artery bypass graft, to wish him a speedy recovery. Mr. Rajavelu was discharged from the hospital the day before.
Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on Friday called on Deputy Speaker R. Rajavelu, who is recuperating after a surgery at his residence in Chennai. He had undergone a coronary artery bypass graft at the Madras Medical Mission. Mr. Rajavelu was discharged from the hospital on Thursday. The Chief Minister visited him and wished him a speedy recovery, a communication here said.
More than 2.6 lakh village and ward volunteers in Andhra Pradesh, once celebrated as the government’s grassroots champions for their crucial role in implementing welfare schemes, are now in a dilemma after learning that their tenure has not been renewed after August 2023 even though they have been paid honoraria till June 2024.
