Some activists stopped the Ilkal-Solapur bus on the Kudal Sangam Road and defaced the vehicle.
Kannada activists defaced a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus at Ilkal in Bagakot district of Karnataka on February 24 night. They put black paint on the windows and wrote Jai Karnataka in Kannada. They forced the driver to hold a flag and raise slogans of Jai Karnataka.
Activists stopped the Ilkal-Solapur bus on the Kudal Sangam Road and defaced the vehicle. They claimed it was in response to Shiv Sena (UBT) activists defacing a NWKRTC bus in Solapur. “We have done all that they had done to our bus and driver,” the activists told reporters.
Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy said that he condemns such acts by anyone. “I do not support defacing of any MSRTC bus in Karnataka or KSRTC bus in Maharashtra. They will do nothing, but cause great losses to the State-run transport undertakings, which are public assets. Activists should not indulge in such acts,” he told reporters in Bagalkot on February 25.
