Republicans have soured on the Senate minority leader over his positions on immigration and Ukraine.
Attendees booed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell after he briefly appeared on screen Monday at the Republican National Convention.
HuffPost’s Igor Bobic captured the moment on the convention floor in Milwaukee when McConnell’s face appeared shortly after former President Donald Trump announced Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance as his running mate for the 2024 election.
McConnell was booed once again when he appeared on screen to announce the votes for delegates of Kentucky for Trump.
Republicans, who have largely become the party of Trump, have soured on McConnell over his positions on Ukraine, Trump and immigration.
Asked by HuffPost if he was confident about the future of U.S. support for Ukraine following Vance’s announcement as VP, McConnell didn’t directly answer, calling the Ohio senator a “great choice.”
