KCR breaks silence, says he’ll hit back hard at political opponents at right time
HYDERABAD
After lying low and being silent for more than a year despite political and personal-level targeting and provocation by the ruling Congress leaders, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao made some interesting comments on Friday, stating that “It won’t be easy to withstand, whenever I hit back”.
Speaking to party activists and leaders from Zaheerabad constituency at his Erravelli farmhouse near Gajwel on Friday, Mr. Rao said the Congress Government in the State had accumulated large-scale discontent among people within a year of coming to power.
He cited a social media poll conducted by the Congress on Thursday asking netizens as to which government they would prefer, a few thousand participants chose ‘farmhouse rule’ over ‘Praja Palana rule’.
Stating that he had been maintaining a stoic silence on the performance of the government despite its failures on every front, Mr. Rao said there was pressure on him from the party ranks to expose the government failures. “Let’s hold a public meeting in February-end and show the mirror to Congress Government,” he told the party ranks.
He said the State’s revenue during the Congress rule had dipped by ₹13,000 crore according to the CAG report, while it had increased every year during the BRS rule. There was no progress in irrigation projects, realty sector was on the slide and rates of lands had been looking southwards, parents were taking out their children from residential schools as they were being provided poor quality food and the government could face difficulties in paying salaries to employees in 3-4 months, Mr. Rao said.
Asking the party ranks to get ready for agitations and direct struggles including on irrigation projects such as Palamuru-Rangareddy, Kaleshwaram, Basaveshwara and Sangameshwara, Mr. Rao said the true colours of the Congress Government would be experienced more by people in the coming days. Party leaders T. Harish Rao, K. Manik Rao, V. Sunitha Laxma Reddy, Chinta Prabhakar, A. Jeevan Reddy and others attended the meeting.
