Kanye West deletes X account after posting antisemitic content and selling swastika T-shirt, sparking widespread outrage.
Kanye West has officially deleted his X (formerly Twitter) account after days of controversy following a series of antisemitic and inflammatory posts. The move comes after West’s website for his Yeezy brand was reduced to selling a single item — a $20 T-shirt featuring a swastika.
The rapper and fashion mogul had been on a rant-filled spree on X, posting multiple antisemitic comments, praising Adolf Hitler, and calling himself a “Nazi.” His remarks triggered widespread outrage, with several celebrities and organizations condemning his actions. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) issued a statement on Monday, denouncing West’s decision to sell the swastika-emblazoned shirt, calling it “further proof of Kanye’s antisemitism.” The ADL pointed out that the product’s label on the website, “HH-01,” was coded language for “Heil Hitler.”
Despite West previously claiming on X that he would “never sell a swastika tee because people could be physically harmed wearing it,” the item appeared on Yeezy’s online store over the weekend. The controversy intensified when it was revealed that West ran a Super Bowl ad in the Los Angeles area directing viewers to his website, though the ad itself did not explicitly promote the T-shirt.
West’s final moments on X were equally contentious. Before deleting his account, he reignited his long-standing feud with Taylor Swift, criticising her for singing along to Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us during the Super Bowl halftime show. The track, widely interpreted as a diss aimed at Drake, includes accusations against the rapper. West wrote, “WHY ARE WE LETTING TAYLOR SWIFT BE SEEN ON TV SINGING A SONG ABOUT TAKING A BLACK MAN DOWN… KENDRICK IS BEING USED BY THESE WHITE PEOPLE AND JEWS AND SO AM I.”
Musician Charlie Puth was among the many who publicly condemned West’s actions, urging him to stop spreading harmful rhetoric. “MILLIONS of people are influenced by you,” Puth wrote on social media. “Please, I BEG you to stop.”
The fallout from West’s remarks and actions comes just days after his controversial appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where he arrived with his wife, Bianca Censori. Her sheer outfit sparked debates online, with many questioning whether West was exerting control over her. He later defended her wardrobe choice but admitted she “DEFINITELY WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO IT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL.”
