Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar, known for his passion for motorsports, recently met with an accident during a practice session in Portugal. The incident occurred while he was training at the Estoril Circuit for an upcoming motorsport event. Fortunately, the actor emerged unscathed and assured his fans that it was only a “minor accident.”
Ajith’s car reportedly sustained damage after the mishap, but quick action from his team ensured his participation in the qualifying round. Expressing his excitement about racing at the legendary circuit where Formula 1 icon Ayrton Senna clinched his first victory, Ajith acknowledged the track’s challenges but remained optimistic. He also noted an improvement in his lap timings.
Reflecting on the growing enthusiasm for motorsports in India, Ajith told the Times of India, “It truly excites me to see them embracing something I love so much.” His involvement in racing has sparked greater interest among his fans, who continue to support his endeavors both on-screen and on the track.
This marks the second accident Ajith has encountered in recent months. In January, while preparing for the Dubai 24H race, his car crashed into a safety barrier, spinning multiple times before coming to a halt. Despite the harrowing incident, he walked away unharmed and went on to secure a podium finish with his team, Ajith Kumar Racing by Bas Koeten.
Meanwhile, Ajith’s latest film, Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, is enjoying a strong theatrical run. Starring Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, and Arav, the film has grossed Rs 92 crore worldwide
