ISRO Chairman attributes success of Indian space programmes to teamwork

IIM-Kozhikode convocation sees 641 Executive Education graduates, record 38 doctoral degrees, and inspiring speeches from esteemed guests.
As many as 641 students from various Executive Education programmes, including the Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) in Interactive Learning Mode, the EPGP at the Kochi campus, and the PhD in Management – Practice Track for working professionals, graduated from the Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) on Saturday (April 5, 2025), the second day of the convocation. Including the 677 Post Graduate Programme graduates from the first day, a total of 1,318 students graduated over the two days. The 38 doctoral degrees awarded by IIM-K this year mark a record for the institute.
Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), V. Narayanan, who was the chief guest on the occasion, presented certificates to the graduates on the second day of the convocation. In his address, Mr. Narayanan highlighted some interesting aspects of India’s space journey and explained how the country’s space programme became one of the best in the world despite its humble beginnings in 1962. He said that India has grown by leaps and bounds in every sector since Independence and attributed the success of key national objectives to teamwork and self-belief.
Soumitra Dutta, Dean of Said Business School, the University of Oxford, and Radhika Gupta, managing director and chief executive officer of Edelweiss Mutual Fund were guests of honour on the occasion.
Director of IIM-K Debashis Chatterjee and Officiating Chairperson and member of IIM-K’s Board of Governors Vinita Bajoria were present on the occasion.
