The Hanuman Yatra in Hyderabad concludes peacefully with heavy police deployment and inter-departmental coordination for a successful event.
The Hanuman Yatra concluded peacefully on Saturday, with heavy police deployment and extensive coordination between multiple departments.
A total of around 190 processions — 150 from Hyderabad Commissionerate and 40 from Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerates — converged into the main Sri Veera Hanuman Vijaya Yatra. Surveillance was carried out using drones and CCTV cameras from the Joint Command Control Centre.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C. V. Anand, along with senior officials, supervised field-level security and coordinated with organisers to ensure the timely start of the main processions.
Speaking to the media later, Mr. Anand said that security arrangements were made in view of past experiences and the present situation.
“This time too, meticulous planning was done in coordination with government departments, Vijaya Yatra organisers, and religious leaders to ensure the peaceful conclusion of the Yatra,” he said. Processions under the Rachakonda and Cyberabad police commissionerates joined the main Yatra at Gowliguda after setting out early.
The Hyderabad City Police deployed over 17,000 personnel and additional armed forces to manage the event. Traffic diversions were put in place at 45 locations to ensure minimal inconvenience to residents and the smooth movement of the procession.
A joint control room was set up at the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner’s office in the ICCC Building at Banjara Hills. Senior officials from GHMC, Roads and Buildings, Fire Services, Electricity, EMRI, TGSRTC, Water Board, Transport, and Health departments were present to monitor the event and resolve any issues in real time.
