Hairdressers say they are not able to make end meets; even home services have taken a hit as cases surge
With the State government ordering the shutting down of salons as part of restrictions to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Tamil Nadu Hairdressers Union has approached the government requesting it to reopen salons as many of them are facing losses. Alternatively, they have sought monetary aid from the government. As part of the measures to control the spread of the second wave of COVID-19, the State government imposed new restrictions that came into effect from April 26. As part of these, salons and barber shops were asked to shut down. Subsequently, many hairdressers have started offering home services.More Related News
