NGS, BES, and KBS honor lawyers Vaidyanathan and Shankar; Sai Deepak speaks on tradition, culture, and Constitution.
The Nurani Grama Samudayam (NGS), the Brahmin Educational Society (BES) and the Kerala Brahmana Sabha (KBS) jointly felicitated senior Supreme Court lawyer C.S. Vaidyanathan and his son and Delhi High Court judge Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar here on Saturday.
Senior lawyer J. Sai Deepak spoke on ‘Tradition, culture and Constitution’ as part of the eighth edition of the NNR memorial lecture series. Students and teachers of different BES schools attended the programme.
Mr. Vaidyanathan, who won Padma Shri this year for his outstanding contributions to the field of law, inaugurated the year-long centenary celebrations of Lakshmi Nilayam UP School, Nenmara.
Mr. Harish Shankar inaugurated the silver jubilee celebrations of BES Bharathi Thirtha Vidyalayam English Medium Higher Secondary School, Kallekkad.
BES president K.V. Vasudevan, former KBS president Karimpuzha Raman, NGS president N.V. Sivaramakrishnan, KBS district president N.A. Ganesan, BES secretary N.N. Krishnan, KBS State president H. Ganesan spoke.

The school was established in 1981 in the car shed of a coffee planter, Parvathe Gowda. Later, the planter donated land for the school, which now boasts of a playground and a building spread over 2.5 acres. Students comprise children from nearby Krishnappa Badavane, Hospete, Sattihalli, Karehatti, Boothanakadu and a few other villages nearby.
