The former president also recalled former first lady Melania Trump's reaction.
Donald Trump has for the first time detailed how his youngest son, Barron Trump, found out about the failed attempt on his life at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July.
Barron Trump, 18, was on a tennis court when he discovered that his father had been shot, the former president told Fox News’ Mark Levin.
“Barron was outside having a tennis lesson. He’s a good tennis player. And somebody ran up, [and said], ‘Barron, Barron, Your father’s been shot,’” the 2024 Republican presidential nominee recalled.
“He loves his father. He’s a good kid. Good student. Good athlete, actually,” Donald Trump continued. “And he ran, ‘Mom. What’s going on? What’s going on?’”
Former first lady Melania Trump “couldn’t believe it,” Donald Trump told Levin. “She was actually watching it live. Can you imagine? And I got up and I let people know I was OK. ‘Fight, fight, fight.’ But I let people know I was OK. But it was a hit, it was a big hit. And a miracle actually.”
