Alex Bruesewitz, a consultant who helped President-elect Donald Trump cut through to young, male podcast audiences during the 2024 election campaign, collapsed on stage while giving a speech at the New York Young Republican Club Gala on Sunday.
The 27-year-old CEO of the political and corporate consulting agency X Strategies suddenly began to slur, admitted he was “forgetting my words” before going silent and then tumbling to his side.
Bruesewitz was helped out of the room.
A speaker came on stage and said Bruesewitz was “OK” and suggested it was “a little bit warm up here under the lights.”
“It’s OK, happens to the best of us,” they continued, adding that “only the finest medics in the room” were on hand and assisting the strategist.
The president-elect told reporters that the former Fox News host was “making tremendous strides” in his bid to become defense secretary.
If he loses his remaining appeals, Trump would become the first convicted felon to serve as U.S. president.
