Differently-abled rally for housing sites from MUDA in Mysuru, seeking government land for construction and skill development training.
Differently-abled persons under the banner of Swabhimani Visheshachetanara Hakkugala Horata Samithi on Wednesday took out a rally here demanding housing sites or houses allotted from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
Citing the reported assurance from the Deputy Commissioner here on June 19, during the grievances redressal meeting of the differently-abled persons, the Deputy Commissioner had reportedly asked the MUDA Commissioner to identify the government land and develop sites for constructing houses for the differently-abled. The meeting also suggested imparting skill development training so that they can become self-employed for their livelihood. “The assurance had given a new hope for us,” the members of the horata samiti said in a press release here.
The members of the horata samithi urged the district administration and the MUDA to step up the process and consider their appeal of allotting sites or houses within a radius of 10 k.m. in the city.
They cited the example of Bengaluru where over 100 differently-abled had been allotted sites in the city. Similar steps can be taken in Mysuru for their welfare, they demanded.
