Deputy CM reaffirms commitment to SC, ST Sub-Plan implementation, emphasizes no compromise, reviews fund allocations, and plans for tribal development.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to implementing the SC, ST Sub-Plan in true spirit, emphasizing that there will be no compromise in its execution.
Addressing the valedictory session of a training camp for Adivasi and tribal representatives at Nagarjunasagar in the district on Saturday (January 11), Mr. Bhatti described the legislation as a “panacea for all ills” and highlighted his role in its drafting and enactment.
A meeting of departmental secretaries has been convened to review the implementation of the sub-plan and assess fund allocations, he said and stressed the government’s responsibility to allocate 10% of funds under the SC, ST Sub-Plan and urged tribal representatives to inform their communities that the plan’s implementation is a result of the “Indiramma government” in the State.
He announced plans to revive Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs), allocate necessary budgets, and provide training to unemployed youth to help them pursue self-employment opportunities.
The Deputy CM alleged that attempts were being made to undermine the Constitution and curtail the rights of common people. He credited the Congress governments with enacting key legislations such as the PESA Act, Forest Rights Act, MNREGA, and the SC, ST Sub-Plan to safeguard the rights of marginalized communities.
