
No rift in alliance with BJP in Karnataka, says H.D. Kumaraswamy

The JD(S) leader responded positively to calls for formation of a co-ordination committee of the alliance partners, and said such a committee should be formed.
JD(S) leader and Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H. D. Kumaraswamy denied any rift in the party’s alliance with the BJP in Karnataka.
He said his party is not joining the Janakrosha Yatre of the BJP, as it is an exercise to strengthen their party. Also, the JD(S) had not been invited by them, he said.
Even though each party is working towards their own organisational goals, the alliance remains strong and there is no room for doubts, he said.

The Delhi High Court on Monday ordered status quo till July 10 on the demolition notices issued by the Delhi Development Authority against seven residents of Okhla’s Batla House area. The court posted the matter for hearing on July 10, when the other petitions related to the demolitions in the area are also scheduled for hearing. The counsel for the petitioners argued that the DDA and the Delhi government had “indiscriminately targeted properties beyond the identified area and without issuance of individual notices”.
