Conservative Magazine Warns How Donald Trump’s Canada Attacks Could Backfire

The editors of the National Review did not hold back in their latest editorial, which condemned President Donald Trump’s escalating attacks on America’s northern neighbor ― and warned how they may go awry for him and the GOP.
In an essay titled “Trump’s Reckless War on Canada,” the conservative magazine criticized Trump’s threats, tariffs, and contradictory stance toward the country, warning that “none of this is good for U.S. business.”
The magazine also sounded the alarm over Trump’s talk of turning Canada into the 51st state, cautioning that “it now seems to be more than trolling.”
“If Trump is serious, it is unfathomable that we are threatening the sovereignty of a fellow NATO country, a friend that has repeatedly fought and bled alongside us,” they said.
