Olympic medallist P.V. Sindhu marries CEO Datta Venkata Sai in a lavish traditional wedding in Udaipur.
Double Olympics medallist and India’s champion shuttler P.V. Sindhu got married to Datta Venkata Sai, CEO of Posidex Technologies, on Sunday (December 22, 2024) night at 11.20 pm in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
It was a traditional wedding amidst Vedic chants with a blend of Rajasthani culture discernible in the presence of about 150 select guests from across the country, including family members and friends.
The 21-acre island in the backdrop of Aravalli Ranges was colorfully decorated to mark the momentous occasion in the life of arguably one of India’s finest athletes. Sindhu’s family booked about 100 rooms for the near and dear.
The reception will be held in Hyderabad on Tuesday (December 24, 2024) at a convention expected to be attended by some of the biggest names from the world of sports, arts and culture, politics.
It may be mentioned here that Sindhu and Venkata Sai have personally invited many including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
More than 2.6 lakh village and ward volunteers in Andhra Pradesh, once celebrated as the government’s grassroots champions for their crucial role in implementing welfare schemes, are now in a dilemma after learning that their tenure has not been renewed after August 2023 even though they have been paid honoraria till June 2024. Disowned by both YSRCP, which was in power when they were appointed, and the current ruling TDP, which made a poll promise to double their pay, these former volunteers are ruing the day they signed up for the role which they don’t know if even still exists
