
Awareness to prevent forest fires held in Tirupattur

Forest Department and Osai Trust raise awareness on forest fire prevention and environmental conservation in Yelagiri Hills.
The Tirupattur division of Forest Department and Osai Trust jointly organised an awareness programme on the prevention of forest fires at Islamiah Women’s Arts and Science College in Vaniyambadi town.
According to a press release, M. Mahendran, District Forest Officer, Tirupattur, discussed forest fires and prevention strategies. He emphasised the importance of saving the earth and its water resources. In this regard, he highlighted the need to educate students on environmental protection.
The programme aimed at raising awareness among students and the local community about the importance of forest conservation.
In a symbolic gesture, all participants took a pledge to plant two crore saplings, marking a significant commitment to environmental conservation.
Vijee Chinnaswamy, founder and chairman, Osai Trust; Gulnaz Parveen, founder, Arsh Group Trust (Chennai); and Bharath, District Green Fellow, were present on the occasion, the release said.
