Aradhana Shenoy, Veekshitha receive gold medals at Mangalore University’s 43rd convocation

Aradhana Shenoy, who scored 650 marks out of 650 marks in final year B.Com examinations of 2023-24, was awarded with three gold medals in the 43rd convocation of Mangalore University at Mangalagangotri on Saturday.

Aradhana was the first rank holder in the B.Com examination. She is a student of MAPS (Mangalore Academy of Professional Studies) College, Mangaluru. The daughter of Vinita V. Shenoy, a homemaker, and Vishwanath Shenoy, a businessman, from Panemangalore, she simultaneously studied for Chartered Accountancy (CA) while pursuing B.Com.
“As I simultaneously studied for the CA course, it helped in scoring better in the B.Com examinations,” Aradhana told presspersons after receiving her degree.
She said she used to leave home at 6.30 a.m. and reach MAPS College at 8.30 a.m. Later, she went for CA classes at the college till 3.30 p.m. She attended B.Com classes from 4.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. and returned home around 9 p.m.
Now, Aradhana is preparing to appear for CA Intermediate Unit 2 B examination in May.
She bagged the Srimati Rukmini Shetty Memorial Sudhakar Shetty gold medal, Dr. H.V. Shankaranarayana gold medal and a gold medal instituted by ICAI.
Veekshitha bagged the first rank in Master of Arts in Kannada during the 2023-24 year. She is the daughter of Sujatha, a sweeper at University College in Mangaluru.
