Minister Lokesh acknowledged the existing vacancies in universities and assured that all vacant positions would be filled within this year. The process will commence once the One-Man Commission report is submitted. He also mentioned plans to introduce the ‘Professors of Practice’ initiative, where industry experts would teach specialised courses. Additionally, measures such as accreditation, quality assurance, faculty development programmes and international exposure visits for faculty members will be implemented to enhance the higher education system.
The government is set to introduce an industry-linked curriculum in higher education institutions to bridge the gap between academia and industry. The Learning Excellence in A.P. (LEAP) initiative will focus on clustering colleges, polytechnics, ITIs and universities with sector-specific institutions to create a seamless learning ecosystem.
