BJP MP Tejasvi Surya ties the knot with singer-dancer Sivasri Skandaprasad in Bengaluru

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya marries Carnatic singer Sivasri Skandaprasad in Bengaluru, attended by political leaders and musicians.
BJP MP from Bengaluru South Tejasvi Surya tied the knot with Carnatic singer and Bharatanatyam dancer Sivasri Skandaprasad in an intimate, traditional ceremony in Bengaluru on March 6, 2025.
The wedding of the two-time parliamentarian was attended by several BJP leaders and Ministers, who shared images with the newly-wed couple on social media.
Among those in attendance were Union Ministers of State (MoS) V. Sommanna, Arjun Ram Meghwal, MPs P.C. Mohan and Shobha Karandlaje, State BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra, BJP leader Pratap Simha, BJP National General Secretary B.L. Santosh, Public TV editor Ranganath, historian and author Vikram Sampath among others.
Hailing from a musically-rich family, Sivasri’s grandfather was Carnatic vocalist Seerkazhi Jayaraman, and her father, mridangam vidwan Skandaprasad.
Sivasri is a familiar face for fans of devotional and classical music, but she forayed into film music when she lent her voice to ‘Vanathi’s Message’, part of AR Rahman’s Ponniyin Selvan original score.
Sivasri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering from Sastra University, an MA in Bharatanatyam from Chennai University, and an MA in Sanskrit from Chennai Sanskrit College.
