2027 Asian Karate Championship will be held in Hyderabad: Mahesh Goud

TPCC chief and State Karate Association president Mahesh Kumar Goud said that the government would host the 2027 Asian Karate Championship in Hyderabad.
Mr. Goud was speaking at the closing ceremony of the four-day national karate championship at Gachibowli stadium on Saturday. Teams from Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana, won the championship.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy sent his message to participating sportspersons and recalled how his government is focusing on encouraging and improving sports facilities. He said setting up the Sports University is an indication of government’s commitment.
Mr. Goud, who gave away prizes to the winners, said that Telangana was lucky to have a sportsman as the Chief Minister, and more funds were being allocated for sports activities now.
A total of 36 teams from 28 states, and teams from the Army and paramilitary forces participated. SAT Chairman Shivsena Reddy, MD Sonibala, and Karate India president Bharat Sharma were present.
