The trailer for Zero Day, a political thriller series starring Robert De Niro, is out
On the heels of Donald Trump’s second inauguration as US President, Netflix has debuted the trailer for Zero Day, a political thriller series headlined by Robert De Niro.
In the series, a devastating cyberattack has hit America, leading to 3,402 casualties. Former President George Mullen, played by De Niro, is pulled out of retirement to investigate the attack. With more such threats looming, Mullen is ensnared in a web of conspiracies and political subterfuge. “If the public finds out how deep this really is,” says a character, hinting at some deep state chicanery, “I don’t think we survive that.”
“As disinformation runs rampant and the personal ambition of power brokers in technology, Wall Street and government collide, Mullen’s unwavering search for the truth forces him to confront his own dark secrets while risking all he holds dear,” reads the synopsis of Zero Day.
Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, Matthew Modine and Angela Bassett are also featured on the cast of Zero Day. The series is co-created and co-written by Eric Newman and Noah Oppenheim.
The six-episode series will stream on Netflix from February 20.
