BJP MLA defends bulldozer action against illegal huts, expresses desire to become Chief Minister of Karnataka.
BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has defended the bulldozer action against some illegal huts in Uttar Pradesh and other places saying that violators of laws should be dealt with strictly.
He did not, however, mention any specific incident.
“If I am made the Chief Minister, I will buy a thousand bulldozers. I will station two of them in each taluk. Anyone who violates the laws or anyone who makes unnecessary noises will face bulldozer action,” he said.
“At times, I wonder why I cannot be the Chief Minister of the State? What is that I am lacking? If there is a rule that the most honest person be made the Chief Minister, then, I am the top candidate for the post. If God were to choose a leader in Karnataka for the post, then I will be surely chosen. But then, I will not lose heart or end my life, if I’m not made the Chief Minister,” he told reporters.

The sun is already high in the sky, beating down fiercely on our heads, when we reach Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace in Chamrajpet, Bengaluru. But inside the beautiful high-ceilinged structure, it is surprisingly pleasant, the interiors airy and light-filled. According to a plaque outside the two-storied edifice made out of wood, stone, mortar and plaster, construction here was started by Hyder Ali Khan in 1781 and completed by his son, Tipu Sultan, in 1791, eight years before the Tiger of Mysore would be killed by the British in 1799.
