MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar demands CM Siddaramaiah's resignation over MUDA site allotment scam, urging impartial probe.
MP for Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has reiterated his demand for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s resignation in the wake of the recent statement by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) that the allotment of alternative sites by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to his wife Parvathi was ‘illegal’.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Mr. Yaduveer said he as well as the BJP had taken a stand that Mr. Siddaramaiah should resign from the post of Chief Minister for his alleged involvement in the MUDA’s alternative site allotment scam.
The ED’s probe has found irregularities not just in the allotment of alternative sites to Mr. Siddaramaiah’s wife, but a total of 142 sites, Mr. Yaduveer said, reiterating the need for the Chief Minister to resign as he represents all the people of the State.
He should vacate the responsible position of the Chief Minister forthwith and facilitate a probe by an agency that does not come under his influence and authority. A decision on his continuation or otherwise should be taken after the probe concludes, he said.
The findings of the ED investigation were not the end of the investigation, he said adding that further probe into the matter was needed to ascertain the beneficiaries of the controversial 50:50 scheme.
The investigation into the alleged scam will not be over just by the surrender of the 14 sites by his wife, the MP said while claiming that wrongdoing had been admitted by returning the alternative sites allotted to his wife.
About Mr. Siddaramaiah’s claim that the probe into the matter was part of a “political conspiracy” against him, Mr. Yaduveer said it was for the CBI or the ED to clear him of the charges and declare him innocent.
