
Woman dead, man critically hurt in Flemingdon Park highrise fire

A woman is dead and a man is critically injured following a fire at a highrise residential building in Flemingdon Park on Wednesday, Toronto police say.
The fire broke out in a unit in a building on Grenoble Drive, near Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue E. Toronto Fire Services said firefighters were called to the unit on the 21st floor at 3:35 p.m.
Firefighters rescued the woman and man, and paramedics took them to hospital in life-threatening condition.
The woman was pronounced dead there. According to paramedics, the woman was in her 30s while the man was in his 50s.
Police said the fire is now out.
Toronto Fire Services said there is no sign that anyone else was injured or displaced by the fire.
