Cyberabad police arrest wanted criminal at pub after dramatic shootout, injuring head constable; investigation ongoing.
The Cyberabad police executed a dramatic arrest of a wanted criminal at a pub after he fired at them before being overpowered on Saturday evening. A head constable working with the Madhapur Central Crime Station (CCS) who was part of the force tasked to capture the criminal was shot at Prism Pub in Gachibowli.
According to the police, the incident was reported when the Madhapur CCS team was chasing B. Prabhakar, who has been involved in several house burglary cases in the city.
The incident was reported around 8 p.m. when the team reached the pub. In an attempt to escape, Prabhakar opened fire with a country made weapon, which pierced officer Venkat Reddy’s foot.
While Prabhakar was taken into custody, the injured official was shifted to a hospital in the vicinity. He is said to be out of danger. Further investigation is under way.
