‘People are not in a position to use fans in summer’
Telugu Mahila leaders and activists staged a protest at the APEPDCL Superintending Engineer’s office, opposite Green Park hotel, here on Tuesday against the hike in power tariff.
Addressing the gathering, Telugu Mahila Visakhapatnam Parliament district president Sarvasiddhi Anantalakshmi said that after Mr. Chandrababu Naidu had taken over as Chief Minister in 2014, he had ensured supply of 24-hour quality power. She alleged that after Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had assumed power three years ago, the power tariff was increased seven times.
She alleged that the situation has now come to such a pass that people were not in a position to use the fans in summer in view of the hike in tariff. The Telugu Mahila activists raised slogans demanding immediate rollback of the hike
Telugu Mahila leaders Gangalla Satyavathi, Eethalapaka Sujata, S. Uma, P. Kusalamma, B. Ramadevi, B. Umarani and Manga Devi were among those who participated in the protest.
