YSRCP MP Vijaya Sai Reddy announces resignation from politics, thanking supporters and colleagues for their unwavering support.
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MP Vijaya Sai Reddy on Friday (January 24) announced that he was quitting politics and would resign from the Rajya Sabha on Saturday (January 25).
In a post on ‘X’, Mr. Vijay Sai Reddy said that he would not join any political party and that his resignation is not in the hope of another position, benefits or money. He said that the decision was entirely personal and that none pressured or influenced him.
Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy, however, added that though he has political differences with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), he has no personal differences with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his family. “I have a long-standing friendship with Pawan Kalyan,” he added.
Going further Mr. Vijay Sai Reddy extended “special thanks” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their support for almost nine years, which, he said, gave him strength and courage and earned him recognition in the Telugu states.
Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy said he was indebted to the Y.S. family, who believed in him for four decades and three generations. “I am forever grateful to Jagan garu for giving me the opportunity to be a Rajya Sabha member twice and to Bharatamma garu for taking me to such heights,” he said, adding: “I wish Jagan garu all the best.”
Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy said he worked hard as the leader of the parliamentary party, floor leader in the Rajya Sabha and national general secretary of the YSRCP. “I worked sincerely and tirelessly for the interests of the party and the State. I acted as a bridge between the Centre and the state,” he added.
Saying that agriculture is his future, he expressed his gratitude to the people of the State, his friends, colleagues and party workers for supporting him throughout his political journey.
