Vijaya Sai Reddy quit YSRCP as he lost trust in Jagan, says Y.S. Sharmila

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y.S. Sharmila on Saturday said that Rajya Sabha MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy resigned from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) as he had ‘lost his trust’ in the party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Addressing the media after participating in a ‘Thali Bajao’ protest staged by the Congress at Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada, Ms. Sharmila said Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy was a close confidant of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“He blindly followed Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s instructions without asking questions to an extent. Even in my children’s case, he chose to lie before the media though he knew very well what late Y. S. Rajasekhara’s Reddy’s wish was on the family property,” Mr. Sharmila said.
She said that Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy’s resignation was ‘not a small thing’. She said it was time the YSCRP activists and supporters thought about why everybody was leaving Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“It is because Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, as a leader, has lost people’s trust. At least now, Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy should speak the truth about the role of YSRCP Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy in Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case and other issues,” she said.
Responding to a query on whether Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy’s resignation was part of ‘a ploy by Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy to move closer to the BJP’, she said, “Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is the foster son of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He doesn’t have to use Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy to get more closer.”
Earlier, Ms. Sharmila, along with party leaders and workers, staged a ‘Thali Bajao” protest alleging that the TDP-led NDA government’s ‘Super Six’ programme was ‘Super Flop’.
