Valmiki community leaders demand apology from G. Janardhan Reddy for insulting BJP leader B. Sriramulu in Bagalkot.
Valmiki community leaders demanded an unconditional public apology from the former Minister G. Janardhan Reddy in Bagalkot on Tuesday, saying that his comments on BJP leader B. Sriramulu have hurt the community.
“Mr. Reddy should tender an unconditional public apology. We cannot suffer insults anymore,” leader of the Sriramulu Abhimani Balaga Prakash Naik told reporters.
“Mr. Reddy has made false and baseless allegations against our leader. He has called him a person with criminal antecedents and of cheating him and his family. These words are not acceptable. We strongly condemn them. Mr. Sriramulu is a prominent leader of society. We are not going to sit idly by if our leaders are insulted,” Mr. Naik said.
“Mr. Sriramulu is a loyal BJP worker and treats the party like his mother. But he is under attack and no BJP leader has come out in his support. Why are the State BJP leaders not standing up in support of our leader? The stance of all the leaders, including BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra, is not right,” he said.
“If this continues, then the community will teach a lesson to the BJP,” he said.
Community leaders M.Y. Vadadani, Lingappa Devalagi, Hanamanthappa Talwar, Ramanna Naiker and Yamanur Chungin were among those present at the press meet.
