Unvaccinated kids aged 2 and up should keep wearing masks, pediatrics group says

Kids aged 2 and older who are ineligible for, or have yet to complete, COVID-19 vaccinations should continue to wear masks, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, in line with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
"The COVID-19 vaccines are remarkably effective, but we must stay vigilant," said AAP President Dr. Lee Savio Beers, in a statement. "Children under age 12 are not yet eligible for the vaccine, so it’s smart to be cautious and careful, especially when they are playing with friends, accompanying their parents to the grocery store, attending school or camp, and in any other situation in which they are around groups of people, some of whom may not be fully vaccinated." The pediatrics group advises that kids wear masks and follow other mitigation measures like physical distancing until they are fully vaccinated, or at least two weeks after the final dose to reduce infection risk.More Related News
