
Union Ministers condemn MMTS train molestation incident

Union Ministers and BJP leaders express outrage at woman's molestation, demand fast-track courts and improved public transport security.
Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, and Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, expressed outrage at the attempt made to molest a woman inside an MMTS suburban train in Hyderabad. The duo directed the party in the State to provide her the best possible treatment at a corporate hospital.
The BJP’s women’s wing president Shilpa Reddy, MLAs – Payal Shankar, Dr. Harish and others rushed to the Gandhi Hospital where the victim was undergoing treatment. They consoled her, and offered complete support to her family. The victim was later shifted to a private hospital in the city.
Ms. Reddy said: “Under the present government, crimes against women are increasing. There is a need to establish fast-track courts to expedite cases. Security in public transport needs to be strengthened,”according to a press release.
On Monday evening, SCR officials including DRM Hyderabad Lokesh Vishnoi and others visited the hospital and enquired about the health of the victim.
