Union Minister pledges support for Telangana's Young India Skill University, boosting state's skill development initiatives.
Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary has assured ‘all possible support’ to the Young India Skill University, an ambitious project undertaken by the Telangana government. During the Lok Sabha session on Monday, this commitment was made in response to Congress MP from Bhuvanagiri Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy’s question about potential central government funding for the university. The Minister, however, said that there was no proposal pending with the Union government as of now to fund the Young India Skill University.
According to the MP, the Young India Skill University aims to provide job opportunities and skill development training to students, focusing on 17 priority sectors identified by the State government. In its first year, the university plans to train 2,000 people, increasing to 20,000 annually. The State has allocated ₹100 crore for the project and plans to create a corpus fund of ₹300 crore-₹500 crore.
Minister Chaudhary’s assurance of support is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing Telangana’s skill development landscape.
