TVK protests against Waqf Amendment Bill in Tamil Nadu, demanding its withdrawal and condemning BJP government.
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) organised a demonstration in the city as part of protests organised across Tamil Nadu against the Waqf Amendment Bill that was passed in both Houses of the Parliament recently.
In response to the call by TVK founder-president and actor-turned politician Vijay, scores of party cadre gathered near the Anna Square to raise slogans condemning the BJP government at the Centre and demanding withdrawal of the Bill that hurt the rights of the Muslim community.
TVK vice-president Puthiyavan led the rally and addressed the protesters.
